In a significant milestone for the Toastmasters community, District 82 was established in 2008, serving both Sri Lanka and the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Quickly gaining traction, the district grew to encompass a remarkable 270+ clubs divided across 14 Divisions and 66 Areas. Boasting a robust membership exceeding 7500 individuals, the district had an expansive presence. In India, clubs flourished in cities such as Chennai, Coimbatore, and Madurai, among others. Meanwhile, in Sri Lanka, the Toastmasters community made its mark in cities ranging from Colombo and Kandy to Jaffna and Negombo.
